Enhancing Government Transparency in Chula Vista:

 The Power of Live Data 

Happy New Year! 

2025 was a monumental year for Chula Vista.

I was proud to bring back the Starlight Parade  to Chula Vista for its third year. An estimated 60 thousand people attended this historic event .

2025 also marked a year of extraordinary progress and investment in Chula Vista. After much anticipation, we celebrated the opening of the Gaylord Pacific Hotel and Resort, featuring more than ten restaurants, along with the opening of Sweetwater Park adjacent to the resort. We completed construction of the Millenia Library, which will be home to the SDSU Nursing Program, and the Chula Vista Entertainment Complex, bringing state-of-the-art facilities to our community. In addition, after three years of collaboration with Filipino American veterans, families, and community leaders, the City Council unanimously approved the creation of Filipino American Veteran Park, the first park in the nation dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of Filipino American veterans, ensuring their legacy will be honored for generations to come.

We had several successful community events including 4th Fest , Lemon Festival , Bonitafest, El Grito, Taste of Third Avenue, Taste of Eastlake, Beautify Chula Vista, and Christmas in October.

It has truly been a year of growth and progress. I am proud of everything we have accomplished together as a community.
