a quote from your site , "As a candidate for Chula Vista City Council, I will work relentlessly and listen to the great residents of District 3 to shape a future that is safe for communities, inclusive of people from all walks of life and focused on the rewards that can be achieved by hard work."
Q1:
With the voting coming to limit speaking time for anyone who wishes to address their grievance to the city council here in chula vista from 5 mins down to 3 mins., 1 what do you have to say about it. 2 if elected what goals do you have for transparency considering your position already within the city and see the problem that are continuing to have people willing to showup and now those voices will be limited by an appointed council member and a member under investigation.
Q2:
i have looked into your filing and you are the highest fundraising candidate. yet you claim to have not reach out to any media .. i cant find any information other then the site. which forgive me but isnt much information. how do you raise so much money and consider alot of the money isnt from chula vista.?
Q3
i spoke to a few people who endorsed you and donated. as far as i can see there isnt much for the public to decide with i dont even see any position. maybe public saftey first ? would you say that you are going to mask kids and lock everyone down if your elected? or are there any lesson to be learn from elected officials over reaching into our lives?
Q4
As you stated in the site your Michael Inzunza was born and raised in Chula Vista then you say this. Michael Inzunza has been living in our neighborhood for 12 years how long have you lived here and what can you say to the ones who have never left ChulaVista? How will you stay for them/.
Michael Inzunza
1. I will always support allowing the public the opportunity to speak to the council. I am not certain if you are aware, but i was highly encouraged to apply for the appointment. I refused and publicly said that i wanted to earn every vote to get elected by my neighbors the correct and democratic way.
2. My donations are from people that I have grown up with, worked with or have seen my dedication to my community over the last 30 years. This depth of my fundraising only from individuals along with my long list of endorsements should demonstrate how much people believe in me and my extensive experience. Almost every donor is from the South Bay and most grew up in Chula Vista.
3. I have spoken to over 3,000 people at their doorstep over the last 6 months providing them campaign literature, telling them my position on issues and listening to them. I am the only candidate talking to voters almost daily. I don't know what you're referencing about locking everyone down or overreaching into people's lives.
4. Your quote from my website only references how long i've lived specifically in District 3, which is 12 years, but i was born, raised and lived almost my entire life in Chula Vista. This part of Chula Vista didn't exist 25 years ago. I spent most of my life in West Chula Vista where i was raised and attended a lot of my schooling.

Q1: In light of the proposed regulation to reduce the allotted time for public commentary from five minutes to three minutes at Chula Vista city council meetings, I would like to hear your perspective. Additionally, if you secure a position in the upcoming elections, what commitments will you make to uphold transparency in light of the ongoing issues that result in residents actively participating, especially considering that these individuals' opportunities to speak are potentially being restricted by a council member, one of whom is currently under scrutiny?
Q2: Upon reviewing your campaign disclosures, it's evident that your campaign has amassed the most significant fundraising amount among the candidates. However, you've stated that you haven't engaged with any media outlets, and there seems to be a lack of available information beyond your website, which, to be frank, provides minimal details. Could you explain how your fundraising has been so successful, particularly considering that a substantial portion of your contributions appears to originate from sources outside Chula Vista?
Q3: After conversing with several individuals who have endorsed and contributed to your campaign, I've noticed there's a lack of clear policy positions publicly available for voters to evaluate. It seems the only identifiable stance might be a prioritization of public safety. Can you clarify whether, if elected, you plan to impose measures such as mandatory masking for children and widespread lockdowns? Or do you believe that there are valuable lessons to be taken from past instances where elected officials may have overstepped into personal freedoms?
Q4: Your website mentions that you, Michael Inzunza, were born and raised in Chula Vista, and it also notes that you have been residing in our local neighborhood for the past 12 years. Could you clarify the duration of your residency in Chula Vista? Furthermore, what message do you have for lifelong residents who have always called Chula Vista home, and how do you intend to represent and remain committed to them if elected?

Shall the measure to continue funding City of Chula Vista services, including fixing potholes; keeping streets, sidewalks, infrastructure, parks, public facilities safe, clean, well-maintained; repairing aging storm drains; managing traffic congestion; and removing trash/graffiti from public spaces, by renewing City of Chula Vista’s half-cent transactions and use tax at the current rate (no increase), continuing an estimated $37,000,000 annually for general government use for 10 years, with citizen oversight, independent audits, and all money locally controlled, be adopted?
